A GIFT WITH A DIFFERENCE!
We can now offer a 'Keeper Experience' . Focusing mainly on Lemurs these special sessions are designed to get you closer to some of the zoo animals and involved in their care. The perfect gift for any animal lover. Guaranteed to be an experience of a lifetime!Several species of tortoise can be seen at Linton Zoo, including two species of giant. Tortoises from tropical regions do not hibernate so even during the winter months our herds of giant tortoises can often be seen grazing outside. Pictured are Vicky and Agnes, two of our Aldabra Giant Tortoises. See how Linton Zoo supports conservation of tortoises and turtles through the ShellShock Campaign Many species of birds including this beautiful Toco Toucan can be seen at Linton Zoo.
These adorable Cotton-top tamarin twins were born on 29th January 2005. This cute little monkey is found only in the forests of Colombia in Central America. Like most other species of tamarin monkeys, it is declining rapidly due to habitat destruction and alteration. Click on 'News' For more information Just seconds old this Brazilian tapir calf was born on 6th August 2007. She is the ninth calf to be born at Linton Zoo to Shannon and Tanya. You can find out more about the tapir family at Linton Zoo at the keeper talk during the school holidays and weekends. The Species Support Scheme (formally Animal Adoption Scheme) is ideal for gifts.
The top four favourites for sponsorship are Oboe our southern ground hornbill pictured left, the giant tortoises, Becky the barn owl and the snow leopard.
