This year, we held three photography days, which gave the participants the chance to receive one-on-one advice from professional photographer Colin Edwards and take some wonderful photos of some of our animals.

It was the perfect way to learn how to make the most of using a camera and how to produce fantastic animal shots, as well as enjoying a wonderful day out at the zoo!

We recived some great feedback from the people who took part in the three 2011 photography days, including:

"Colin was very informative, helpful, patient, and generally made the day brilliant."

"It was very hepful. I now have a much better understanding of photography and, in particular, of photographing animals."

"The last couple of hours were worth the fee alone."

"The staff were very friendly and attentive. They worked hard to make the day the success
it was. We were also well fed and watered!"

"Colin was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very supportive, and he encouraged us to get lots of good photos and priased what we had taken. He also knew all of the animals very well, which made a huge difference and helped us immensely."

Tutoring by the internationally recognised professional photographer:

Colin Edwards

Colin has built up a fantastic reputation for capturing amazing wildlife images both in the UK and abroad and as a result has had much of his work published in magazines such as BBC Wildlife and Practical Photography to name but a few! Colin has the ability to capture the beauty and emotion of each of the subjects hes photographing creating stunning images. Most recently Colin was approached and asked if he would be interested in exhibiting some of his work at the International Gorilla Workshop in Oklahoma USA.

When asked why he feels that he captures such amazing photos Colin's reply was a very simple and humble one "I give the animals the time patience and respect that they deserve, in return they give me there time".
